With that in mind, Period has now integrated our subscription and booking solution, Periode.no, with Inlet's locking system. This allows you to fully automate the operation of your sauna/sauna. This collaboration is designed to provide both owners and users of saunas a seamless, efficient and hassle-free experience for sauna/sauna booking.

Customers book and pay for their sauna visit through Periode.no's easy-to-use platform. Our system handles payments automatically and instantly sends a confirmation to the customer, along with details of the booking.
Once the booking is confirmed, Periode.no communicates with Inlet's locking system to generate a unique, time-limited access code. This code is sent to the customer, who can use it to unlock the sauna on arrival, without the need for a physical key or on-site personnel. The inlet locking system can also be connected to the sauna stove so that the sauna is heated before the customer arrives for their booking.
As a sauna owner, Periode.no gives you a full overview of the bookings and information about your customers. You can monitor access, adjust your booking calendar, and handle customer inquiries directly from the platform. Inlet's locking system also offers detailed access log, giving you additional security and control.
We had a quick chat with Lars Grov from Holmestrand Badstuforening, which just automated their sauna.
Lars says tells us that they considered various operational solutions and set some basic criteria for what we wanted in order for the operation to be virtually self-driven and not require supervision to function:
• We must have a booking system with member register, statistics and solid and easy payment
• The sauna was to be locked for anyone who had not booked an appointment.
• Guests had to have keyless access to the sauna
• The stove should be turned on and the sauna should be heated at all times booked. Without exception.
• The oven had to turn off after the end of the day and if there was/is no booked time, or there is a break.
• Our “butter and bread” product which is Communal Sauna, 1 hour should be completely without the need for human intervention.
With just over 200 members divided into annual and monthly memberships, in 2024 until now, we have already passed 4000 visitors with good speed. Members and guests. Opening hours are from 8 in the morning until the last sauna session ending at 22:30 - all days. A total of 9 sessions with a half-hour break between and a rest break for the oven and sauna in the middle of the day.
The sauna is more or less self-powered and has daily cleaning, hired as a professional service.
Periode.no as the basis for all bookings. There we define products such as Shared sauna, Private sauna, events etc. Common to all of them is that they are pushed into a calendar where it is easy to book an appointment. From the same supplier we also received a fixed membership register and, not least importantly, payment via Vipps.
Here we chose a Key as a Service solution that was integrated via Inlet with the booking system so that guests are assigned a unique key code (PIN) that is sent by SMS a few minutes before the booking time. The visitor enters the code or scans a QR code to see their PIN to unlock the door. The code only works during the time period the guest has booked.
This too is controlled via an INLET integration. All booked times are in Periode.no and Inlet sends a signal to our electric oven control unit to turn it on. We have set a minimum of 1 hour to warm up, which is also controlled via the same system.
After the end of the session and the end of the day, it sends a signal that the oven should be turned off.
Vi satt Periode.no til å få vårt «smør og brød»-produkt til å publisere timer hver natt, et antall dager fram i tid. Alltid tilgjengelig til å booke. Helt av seg selv. Altså ikke noe manuell inngripen her heller.
In the case of special products such as ritual, aufguss or other, Period has a simple system for deleting single-times in the standard calendar and replacing with - whatever it should be. The booking manager takes care of this part of the administration, which in practice is the only manual, daily work - beyond dialogue with members and guests, then.
